This morning the Pauline, skippered by Mike Mack, headed out looking for salmon out of Half Moon Bay with San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy, John DeAngelis, and Ben Sleeter. The original plan was to head to Santa Cruz to get in on the hot bite there but plans changed and HMB was the next best alternative. Reports from Pillar Point were slim and fishing has been slow the past few days. The crew only had a few hours in the morning to fish before having to return to the harbor so Bruce could get to the ballpark. Lines were in the water at 17/35 thanks to some great advice from Bob Ingles on the Queen of Hearts (http://www.fishingboat.com/). The crew trolled baits and hoochies on some very good krill marks for one hit and run before Bruce notices the center shallow rod pumping hard. Bruce knows his way around fishing gear and boats and made quick work of a very nice 17# Chinook. The crew trolled for another hour without another take down and then pulled the plug to head home.
