Allen and others...I too, listened to the complete teleconferences. So great presentations from the CA Tribes and their reps. I'm going to also go to the meeting in Fort Bragg on March 1st. This request from Northern California Tribes is nothing new to me...as all of you hear it first from me years ago...Oct. 16-17 2007, in Gualala. Some of the RSG heard what I said while the management (I Team) just did not really care about the local property owners or the Native Americans. Sadly enough another familiar quote or two from Mr. Ken "We don't do perfect" and "We have to put something on the table for Oct" "that's our intention." Rush, rush, rush...Ken sure would not want to get behind with his deadlines. It really does not matter to him about any of us...just as long as he gets paid.

I'm behind what the Native Americans are asking for, always have been and will speak for them and on their behalf any time. Arch aka "danaka-kin" (Stewarts Point Man in the Pomo/Kashia language)

    Thanks Danaka-kin,

Do you hear any difference in the tone of this RSG vs. the North Coast?

I believe 7 of the 32 RSG members represent Native interests. At the previous RSG meeting, several non-native members voiced frustration regarding this issue; that they believed they were wasting there time until this was settled. I certainly get the feeling the 7 Native members will walk out at some point if they don't get what their are looking for (preservation of their rights).

I wish the RSG would have added a time constraint to their recommendations. As in this needs to be done by XYZ date. I tried to get on the public comment to say as such, but for some reason I was not recognized (actually my fault, so don't blame them).

Ken ... yup, move along now, we don't have the time or the budget. At the previous RSG meeting he stated that they would not be updating the Regional Profile, even though many of the RSG were pointing out inaccuracies. Yup ... they didn't have the budget or the manpower to do it.

Allen....Yes 7 SH on the RSG is kind of an over kill. How they all made it is somewhat scary...as did other interest groups get fairly represented? They might be wasting their time...but they are present and thats more than they can say for the NCCSR. I did like the idea of someone from the BIA sitting in and representing them. The BIA should have been involved from the start, after all we had every other county, state and gov't agency envolved and pulling strings. It is a little late to start changing policy in the master plan...but one of the only things that has been constant throughout the "transparent" policy...has been change. They have changed the rules way to many times. As the finish line is in view (Oct. as Ken stated) you will find that all the hard work of the total RSG can be demolished by the BRTF. It's really not about the resources, but about how fast they can get this project done and get the GREEN resumes in their personal folders. It has been a waste of time and money.

The Native Americans were never given a chance as well as other groups. The Sea Weed business, the private property owners and small towns and business will fall with the economy as it is. I'm sure when this is all over there will be law suits. And who is to say, that in when the 5 year studies are done...It will all be wrong. Personally I think in the NCCSR the IPA will devestate the resources...and the large SMR's will do no good.

See you at a meeting soon I hope...

I won't be at the BRTF meeting on Monday, but I (as well as a number of NCKA members) am planning to meet them at a TBD location as part of the BRTF field trip on Tuesday.
