Here is a link to the Draft Monitoring Plan for the North Coast Study Region. This document has been peer reviewed by many scientists and is going to remain a living document.
It is 247 pages long and is full of information answering many common questions and included comments form the scientific society about its strong and weak points.
This is something we can all be part of and is the only way to bring sanity and a desirable outcome to the "process". It will take time but it will be worth the effort for everyone to become informed and involved. It will be through monitoring where all interested parties will learn the truth. We all want healthy productive fisheries and this is the avenue provided by the MLPA to do just that.
A solid knowledge of this document and a full understanding of its contents as they apply to our study region will be of greatest importance to us all. This document will also be the most likely framework used throughout all study regions since standardized protocol is called for in the Objectives.
