Arch, we haven't met, but I like you're style.....
You could always consider having a $2,500 launch fee for those bastards.

Isn't it amazing how friends and unknowns need you from time to time. I got a telephone call (how did they get my number) from David Downs, I believe working on a project from the Bodega Bay Marine Lab under what I think he said was a "Sea Grant" project. He stated that he had some valuable equipment of the coast here at Stewarts Point and wanted to use the ranch (MY) boat ramp to recover some of the equipment that they were having trouble locating...and that the trip was to long from Bodega Bay. Well they must have put the stuff under water starting a Bodega Bay. He claimed no ties to the MLPA and or the Packards. I graciously told him NO!!! Advised him to pay and use the launch ramps at either Ocean Cove or Timber Cove. And that my family was so screwed over by the MPLA process and I have still not calmed down.
Would you believe that he called me back again last night and asked again...stating that it was 9 to 10 miles from Ocean Cove or Timber Cove. Sorry guys, I could not hold back...the feathers stood up on the back of my neck and this old rooster unloaded. "I did not put that expensive @#%& in the ocean here, hope my tax dollars didn't pay for it and it's a long ride from Bodega Bay....enjoy it."
The ramp here at Stewarts Point was put in by my father years ago and for the use of his friends and family. Now the enviro's want a key to the damn gate..............FUCK EM![]()

Good job Arch. That's what happens when folks run amock without any concern for the relationships they're screwing over in the process. Something tells me the Marine Lab wasn't pushing for or even listening to your position in the process. Sucks that this guy may have had no dog in the hunt and suffers the consequences. But there are ALWAYS consequences.
Well done! I hope they have a long boat ride and are bent over the railing puking their guts out the entire time.

Hi Arch,
I believe Sea Grant actually does studies that help us. Hopefully Ben will chime in here.
Matt
I object!
The MLPA process is a travesty! It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a trasvesty of two mockeries of a sham!
I dunno about help. I do recall they try to do real science though without a predetermined outcome. Doesn't mean the information gleaned isn't used against us in some form..twisted or otherwise. I still see it as a matter of cooperation works both ways. Cooperation of fishermen and coastal owners has been largly discounted. Payback isn't always direct.
Yesterday morning sometime between 9-10 a large gray boat with a redish slash on the bow, maybe coast guard appeared, here for maybe 5 minutes then back down the coast. Thanks for all of your comments and input about who and what it might have been. I'm sure research and info will be gathered in the future about our coast, and is necessary. They must have had a beautiful and costly trip as the ocean was flat. This morning is even nicer...
All in all I'm still a little pissed or in shock of the loss to my family in the placement of an SMR in an area which is so abundant in sea life and beauty. This area does not need restocked or improvement and the land access take was minute. 2XA would have suited the North Central Coast so much better than Mothers Choice.
Lots of boats here this morning and I'm sure more on there way...enjoy it while you can guys. I have been doing it all by life. Fishing, hunting and diving will be a thing of the past soon...as "someone" wants us to eat farmed food and buy it from a store. The word "Sportsman" will soon be taken from the dictionary. The day will come soon when we will be no longer allowed to hunt or fish for our own food. Hopefully not in my lifetime, but its coming..............................
A Long Time Ago...
The crazed bureaucrats running OUR once fine state from Sacramento, decided to "Protect" their Hollywood Movie Star benefactors by clamping dwon on PI's and taking away our ability to catch crooks, cheaters and dead beats by shutting down our ability to run license plates, get driving records, access credit bureaus and search voters records. The Pi's mostly did nothing and took it. I raised hell, but could do little by myself.
Next the same crazy bureaucrats started messing with my fishing. I vowed then and have kept that same vow now for years, To Spend The Time I Used To Do Fishing, That They Had Messed With, Messing With Them and causing them trouble.
I email the media when I see them doing more stupid things. I try to embarass them when I can. I picket their offices and call them names. They don't like being embarassed.
Now we sportsmen are labled as BAD. Like a child that tries to be GOOD, but is told by his folks that he is BAD, and starts acting like he is BAD, that is what I will be to the DFG, to the "Scientists..." and to the Marine Biologists that interfere with my Right To Fish. I will mess with them.
IF... They put up bouys to collect scientific data. I will no longer be the one who reports someone whom I might notice vandalizing them.
I once called the DFG to report poachers. No more.
The DFG has made itself my enemy as have all the others that have closed down OUR ocean for their own personal studies and selfish wishes.
I hope others will do the same. I also hope that the State of California goes broke. I hope all those on the state's payroll lose their cushy jobs and their insane pensions.
We need cops, firemen, game wardens, courts and prisons. Maybe a Health Department to inspect restaurants. Other than that I cannot see a need for so many people (Half the employeed now "Work" for government) doing so very little on OUR dime.
Trout stocking in LA County has dwindled to nothing. They fail to even post on their web site where or when anymore. They still have way too many Biologists and paper pushers at the DFG and only 175 Wardens. What happened to the new law requiring 50% of all fishing license monies to be spent on Trout plants?
Now, because of pollution in LA, the Red Tide is back.
And still millions of tons of "Sludge" (Treated Crap) is dumped into OUR ocean here.
It makes me sick.
Good for you for twarting these morons.
I hope they all go to Hell.

The law is the law and we have to deal with the hand dealt us. I will obey the new laws...but I will also protect and watch over the land that is mine, next to OUR ocean.
Sweet story...I say let it fly Arch.
Hey Arch, we got a similar request at the Sonoma County Abalone Network.
Get this: State Parks asked SCAN to pay for the signs telling people they can't ab dive or fish at Fisk Mill and Horseshoe Coves because of the MLPA.
The BALLS of some people...
You can imagine what our response will be - unprintable here.
Jim
Now that is just @#$%^ ridiculous, did I mention how much I HATE state parks????!!!!
Something like "here's your sign"? <---notice I didn't say what they could do with it.
I think we all remember where State Parks stood on the MLPA issue regardless that it was unethical for them to weigh in at all. But they saw a chance to build their Kingdom and like any good gov't agency, siezed the opportunity.
Well if you remember early in the process Fish and Game asked us, the property owners to patrol and keep and eye out for them on lands which they would be closing....Oh Yea, Sure Mr. Warden!!!
"So we cant go fishing or abaloning somewhere else, because we have to watch over our SMR......$%^&SHIT to the process."
