    Final push for 2XA

    Untitled Document
Well, we are at the end of the line regarding the MLPA in the north-central coast. The Commission is supposed to make a final decision next week and we need to make sure they know where we stand (right, as if it is not totally obvious by now). So here goes my last request regarding the MLPA. Please take a minute to send a letter using the following link. If you can make the meeting that would be great also.

I want to convey a positive message but the reality is that this Commission will probably make a change or two to the IPA and call it done. For me personally, that will not be acceptable. The ONLY thing that is acceptable is 2XA or the IPA with ALL of the following changes:

    No Sea Lion Cove
    No Saunders Reef
Adopt the 2XA option at Stewarts Point
    No Salt Point SMCA/SMP
Adopt the 2XA option at the Russian River

THese five changes would make the IPA tolerable but 2XA is still better. If I could be at the meeting (I'll be somewhere between Little Rock and Oklahoma City all of next week) I would make sure I convey that 2XA is BY FAR the best alternative for both meeting the goals of the Act and minimizing socioeconomic impacts.

I agree Ben. 2/XA is the only acceptable choice. Any other choice can only be based on politics. Next Wednesday can't come soon enough for me.

    I object!

The MLPA process is a travesty! It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a trasvesty of two mockeries of a sham!

    Ben,

Just want guidance here, with the website letters, I see some send letters over and over...does this help..or does an individual get..1 vote..so to speak.

In a perfect world, in a sense, multiple letters would be redundant from either side of the fence, and just skew the system...however, if the system is skewable, and the other side is stacking..then we should too.

Bottom line...send the letters multiple times?

    thanks
    till the next party......

Ya know, Mark, I do not know the answer to that question. My sense is that multiple letters from the same person should not make a difference but knowing how pathetic the state is it is probably just the opposite. I wish I could give you a meaningful answer but can only tell you what I do - I send one letter.

    Thanks Ben,

I will maybe just resend an email blast, and make it a REMINDER if they failed the other times I sent mail.

I just have this feeling that 2007-2011 will be the WORST political years in my life....it just cannot get any worse on every facet I have interest in.......

Well, when China takes over, I can just smile and say that I LOVE Fried Rice and Roast Duck, but, dammit, those 2 foods alone probably cost me about 30 lbs in the past 15 years, and....they just do not come off anymore

Good fishing to all, making every run, like a run to Extermiate the Species.
    till the next party......
