The final decision on which proposal the Fish & Game Commission will adopt for the North Central Coast MLPA will be on August 5th in Woodland. Please see the attached file for the Agenda. Needless to say we need as many people to attend and speak in support of Proposal 2/XA as possible. Please see the attached agenda.
I'm "all in" at this point. I've got to thank Ed Tavasieff once again for his immense help in the creation of my last letter to the Fish & Game Comission. It will also be my little speech to the commissioners.
After 2/XA is adopted on the 5th, I guarantee excellent tuna fishing on the 6th and 7th.![]()

The MLPA process is a travesty! It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a trasvesty of two mockeries of a sham!

Hey Matt, you are welcome and I am glad I was able to help. I have formulated a new letter and will be attending the meeting as well.
This is also a call out to all commercial fishermen to get in touch with everyone you know and GO TO THIS MEETING!. This is important and we need to have a huge showing. Please take the time to attend or don't bitch when you get slammed by the OTHER proposal. " I support proposal 2/XA" is all you have to say during the public input or just show up and be counted.
Remember everyone, this is just the beginning of Marine Protected Areas; the Feds are coming next. If you aren't already, GET INVOLVED and do not let all the, so called, environmentalists continue to go unchallenged spewing misleading and false propaganda against all fishermen.
More to come. Ed Tavasieff
F/V Friendship
Hi Mark,
I am not a public speaker. In fact, my public speaking experience has been limited to the MLPA process. I have practiced my speeches with a timer and in front of friends and it has helped me get through the process as well as refine the speech. It has also helped me wing it when they suddenly shorten our time allotment. As you say, there always seems to be a stumbling point or two I have to work through, but practicing makes me well aware of these points and I try to slow down and be very deliberate here. I never intend on being a public speaker, but I will do it one more time next week.
Now having someone else go because you can't make it, that's priceless! We need more people like you.

Howdy All....still in Alaska, watching the river rise and a limited amount of Kings go off the bite. As for the meeting, I have some calls to make and letters to right before the meeting. Thanks to all who continue to support 2XA and will attend the meeting.
I firmly believe (as I explained to Ed T) at the last meeting. Walk in early, look for the mic!!! Sit in the area of the mic in the first rows...fill them up. The camera is always on the speaker at the mic, and the commissionars are always (hopefully) looking at the speaker. Just sit patiently and wait. When something is said that is wrong or a lie...shake your head in a NO fashion. If you agree with the speaker NOD your head in a yes or positive movement. Believe it or not you will be seen and heard without making a noise by all at the front table.
Just a little extra way of getting your opinion heard without time at the mic. Good luck to all and use your time wisely...I'll be watching on c-span and hopefully you will all be in the first couple of rows.Arch
Arch,
Good thinking there, good thinking!!
Get a team together.........I wish I can be there, but, there is just no way, but, Hell, I am buying lunch for 40 people that day at a Seminar I have to help host and put on..so, here is my offer....
.Lunch for the first 8 guys get in that front row from this site...........or, hey, this is also easy, $12 credit for lunch, or credit at a tackle shop Outdoor Sportsman, OPS or Hi's or the Rack .....just wear clean clothes, a smile on your face, and smile all the time....until...you hear the awkward verbage.....and then, you look annoyed.
Gotta see you on that tape,
Game ON.
till the next party......
