I received the following email today from John Ugoretz.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with John and his vast knowledge of the MLPAI and fisheries management, I can tell you he is THE MAN to go to for answers you can take to the bank. The answers you might get may not be what you wanted to hear but there is no question of its validity. John spent several hours with us during the final round of the 2/XA proposal development and his expertise aided us in its creation.
Thank you John.
All of California will be at a loss with his absence. John is the kind of people we need in the Dept. in order to keep a realistic and honest direction for management policy.
I, wish you all the Best in your new opportunity.
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I wanted to let all of you know that I am leaving the Department of
Fish and Game. My last day in the office will be July 10.
I have been offered a position with the U.S. Navy as an ecologist at
Point Mugu and San Nicolas Island (no, I don*t have to enlist). This
offer comes at a perfect time for me to take on new challenges and use
what I*ve learned over the past 16+ years with Fish and Game in a
different way. I am looking forward to a change of pace and to expanding
my horizons beyond what I*ve worked on at Fish and Game.
I have had the pleasure of working with you all on a variety of marine
fisheries issues and learned a great deal from many of you. I am sure
some of our paths will cross again and look forward to that.
Until then,
John

I object!
The MLPA process is a travesty! It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a trasvesty of two mockeries of a sham!
