    Let's Get A Clear Perspective

I have removed this post and will not comment on the MLPAI any further. I have presented this article to a prominent representative of the industry and have been informed my observations are not agreed with or in the best interest of the current deliberations.

I apologize for any misunderstandings I have caused, however I believe in what I have stated.

Re: Let's Get A Clear Perspective

    Ed,

That is an outstanding summation in a nutshell. Unlike you, I am deeply disturbed by the actions of the BRTF. While your statement about their cherry picking parts of the proposals as recognizing the efforts of all the groups is plausible, I do not buy it. When a BRTF member from an environmental organization take control of the process of the IPA selection I can't believe there wasn't an agenda.

I do believe the strengh of the 2-XA Proposal combined with the outpouring of support for 2-XA limited their options. The problem all along has been that this process has been politicized. As the name suggests, the BRTF should select the best solution, but that was never a real option.

The fishing community owes you and those who worked to make 2-XA the best overall solutij a huge sincere THANK YOU! Without your efforts the BRTF would have had a field day shutting down every viable fishing opportunity possible.

    Thanks!
    Matt

Thumbs up Re: Let's Get A Clear Perspective

    Brilliant Ed, absolutely brilliant!!

What you have posted here needs to be sent to each and every decision maker and staff:

    The Governor
    Secretary Chrisman
    F&G Commission
    Ocean Protection Council
    MLPA Comments
    Blue Ribbon Task Force

What you wrote was so good that I'll even stick my neck out here and offer to sign on to this, should you choose to do that and believe my signature helpful.

Thanks for the support gentlemen. I am not sure what to say or where to go from here.

It seems all our best efforts continue to fall on very deaf ears. I fear a continued practice in futility is borderline insanity.

But tell me the truth, don't you just know in your gut there is something being done to the spirit of California that is just plain WRONG? Not just with the MLPAI but to the rivers, the lands, and even it's peoples.

Oh, HELL YES! I'll go a step further and say it doesn't end with the State of Calfornia.

Re: Let's Get A Clear Perspective

    Ed,

I remember reading your piece, and not the details....what I remeber about that piece, and well, everything you write, is that it was very eloquent, and then beautifully to the point.

I am saddend that you have removed it Ed, as I feel it is due to political preasure from others in the industry.

Here is a thought, although others in the industry may NOT think that it is in the direction that they want to "spin" this, who are they to say how and what you think especially when there are many that are behind your thoughts.

More importantly, if your thought reaches out, and positively impacts 1 more person, then, that is important. If the "Industry" does not like your thoughts, and your postion...and feels that it is "Contra" to their efforts..so be it, and let them explain why. So far, I have not heard "why not", and I believe that I have always personally valued from your perspective!!

You are right too, with the rivers and the water....we have to move forward in that areat too. Your words are too important NOT to be heard. The biggest problem with our society,. is that decisions are being made for society as a whole based on compromise, and in the compromise process, a lot of facts are left out to follow an adjenda....it is all about whos adjenda is being followed....and, the feeling I have Ed, without "truely" knowing your adjenda, is that your adjenda is a closer model to my adjenda, that that of the " industry". Sometimes, one has to make decisions on ......intuition.
    till the next party......
