    All right everyone, here we go. My buddy, fishing partner, neighbor, and a member here Neal Bowman has decided to build an 18 FT. Center Console Tolman Skiff. Neal's wife, Karen and Sleeter suckered me into documenting the process. Why does he want to build a boat when he has 3 big ones and 2 kayaks already? Why not just buy another one like the previous 5?

    I took today off so I could get this phase of the project done. I started out the day by sanding off the last layer of the homebrew filler. The surface was flat and faired but the filler was to viscous too fill minor imperfections...

    I briefly sanded the repair to knock down any high spots or random fibers from the last round of glassing. I then made some thickened resin using a mix of cabosil and microballoons. This compound will act as a filler to get the repair to the final grade. I masked the repair area and skimmed the mixture on using a wide squeegee...
