I am in the middle of a boat work free for all. I have gotten a lot done. The first thing I went after was finishing the scuppers as the half finished job was leaving my happy transom exposed to the elements.
I started out by beveling the transom and gluing in laminated plugs similar to the ones I made for the old Sea Drive holes...

Inside...
Then I hole sawed in the new lower passage for the scuppers and test fit everything...
Next I bonded in the scuppers using epoxy and cabosil. I used small drift boat anchors to hold them in place while things cured. You can see the chunk o' lead thru the scupper...
Once things cured I sanded away all of the epoxy on the outside. I took it all the way back to the original polyester transom material. I had also skinned the plug with polyester on the back half so everything on the back side would be sympatico with gelcoat...

Then is was time to laminate them into the transom and make them flush...
Sand...
Repeat a ziillion times. They now "know me" at TAP...
Finish with a thin coat of fairing compound...
Sand, sand, sand. Simple and sexy...
As luck would have it, it rained the night these were bonded in place. I went out to check on things at 3 am and was delighted to see water peeing out of both scuppers, and there was only a little water in the hold.
I am now working on further improvements that should keep even more water out of the hold. Stay tuned.
