Since my last blog I completed priming the leaning post, rear half of the liner, and the cuddy. The use of the Valspar primer really made the final prep for gel coat significantly easier and with superior results.

I rebuilt the rotten roof the same way I tackled the rotten tank hatch. Although it was a lot of extra work, I am glad I found the rot now. Once I had the roof repaired, I finished all of the other small dings, nicks, holes, cracks, etc.

With everything below decks wrapped up it was time to get the topside ready for fresh gelcoat. I stripped the boat back down and began prepping the cuddy. As I was repairing the old holes from the windshield, I made a gruesome discovery. More rot...



Water had devoured the balsa core around the entire perimeter of the cuddy under the windshield ...

Suenos will be heading out to the 451 On the 29th as well. We will depart Monterey at about 0830 as crew is working the night before..
