Its Tuna Time! (those poor fish)
Eureka! 7-17-2012. havent shared a report here in a long time. Here goes! EurekaMarc and I headed west towards an area another boat caught one albacore on Tuesday. We headed west, over a large area of warm water to the outside/western edge of the temp break (we saw no signs of life along the way thru the warm mass, so….). LInes in at the edge of the break on a couple birds. Troll for 30 minutes and decide to head east… made the turn and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ….double! We land both and get on the troll again…. not 1 minute into it….ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Single!
3 in the box… and its about 645am! 23 miles west of Eureka.
After another 20 minutes…. 1,2,3,4,5!!! A 5way hookup (too bad Marc was changing lures on the 6th line). I took this picture while fighting a fish! (note the nice FINSEEKER rod)
This is why Im an addict! We got 4 out of 5 fish in the box (Marc broke one off trying to bounce it over). We also hooked 2 swimbait fish… but I broke one off on 20# (wtf?).
They were eating a variety of shit )big saury, little saury, little squid, larval fish, lots of worms too

Called it quits at 2pm with 19 peanuts (12# on dfg scales)

cedar plugs, rapalas, archer bars (one on a mini baitomatic)
Water temp 57.5 in morning…. rose to 59 at days end.
